Shamballa is nestled just outside the little town of San Marcos Sierra, in the province of Cordoba, Argentina. It is one of the three G.M.O. free zones in the country. Established in the early 1700,s, San Marcos Sierras is a mix of gauchos, hippies, travelers, foreigners and indigenous descendants…. quiet and relaxed all year except the summer and 3day weekends when people from the city take their vacations in paradise. A great place to unwind from a busy life.
Our weather is warm or hot most of the year, with most of our rain falling in the summer. A small seasonal river flows through the middle of town, and continues on past our place. The semiarid climate here is home to many different native trees, shrubs, and vines, there are Acacias, Mesquite, Jarillas, cactus and a bountiful selection of wild, edible, and medicinal plants. Our water comes from a well that we dug ourselves with the help of an old native dowser.
